Post Office Secret Letter

About this drama

After 15 years at the post office, Beatrice discovered her husband Robert secretly rented a mailbox to receive monthly letters from "M.J." Recognizing his handwriting, she deduced he was forging correspondence with his ex-girlfriend, Margaret. Using her postal expertise, Beatrice traced the address to a rehabilitation center. She learned Margaret was paralyzed and unable to write. Visiting her in Minneapolis, Beatrice confirmed that Robert's deep insecurity drove him to fabricate affection to validate his worth. Returning to Chicago, Beatrice orchestrated a covert intervention by marking the fake letters as "no such person" for virtual return. When Robert received the returned mail, his defenses collapsed. He admitted that years of marital silence had left him profoundly lonely, pushing him to forge letters for self-comfort. The couple finally opened up, resolving to confront their issues by publicly burning the fake letters to rebuild their relationship.
