Ledger Lies

About this drama

Over thirty years, a mother-daughter duo carry out a relay of justice and mutual redemption. The humble, resilient mother keeps ledgers as tombstones, silently documenting the sufferings of countless women crushed by predatory loan-shark capital. Her daughter, now an investigative journalist, breaks a decade of estrangement and misunderstanding, embracing her mother’s unfinished mission. She penetrates the generational web of capital conspiracy, exposing the dark network that preyed on the vulnerable. She gives voice to the silenced dead, offers guidance to desperate women, and ultimately drives institutional reforms, bringing long-hidden suffering into public view. The story embodies the belief that ordinary people, armed with small glimmers of light, can withstand the longest nights, and that unwavering persistence is the truest guardian of justice. Their bond transforms personal pain into societal change, proving that even the quietest records can ignite a revolution of truth.
