I Was His Guard, Now He's My Prisoner

About this drama

Four years was enough to drag Henry Smith, heir to M City’s wealthiest family, down from the heights of luxury to a mere bar porter. It was also long enough for David, a bodyguard once subjected to abuse, to rise into a ruthless kingpin controlling the local mafia. Vengeance consumed David entirely. He meticulously laid a dual snare woven from money and affection, watching Henry sink deeper and deeper until he was publicly disgraced and ruined. Yet the moment his revenge was complete, David felt nothing but an empty void in his heart—he had long since fallen for Henry amid their bitter game. As David chased the man he thought he hated, buried truths slowly came to light. It was Charles, who had obsessed over Henry for years, that orchestrated the death of David’s mother and the collapse of the Smith family fortune. The life-saving funds Henry had secretly transferred had been intercepted by Ethan on Charles’ orders. When David turned his blade toward the true villain, he realized he had wronged the love of his life. Having walked the path from hatred to profound love, he resolved to spend the rest of his days making amends for their belated beginning.
